BMC develops the second generation virtual incubator as a Web-based program available to entrepreneurs nationwide.
As technology advances, so does the BMC virtual incubator program. The center has enhanced the successful features of the original incubator and converted the program into a nationwide, Internet-accessible, start-up business resource.

Designed to educate entrepreneurs on how to successfully grow a business, the second generation virtual incubator is a Web-based service featuring streaming videos, tutorial chapters, step-by-step courses and a searchable database of thousands of topics relating to commerce.

The streaming videos consist of "lessons" taught by actual entrepreneurs who have excelled in a particular business aspect, or learned a lesson "the hard way," and want to share their experiences with other entrepreneurs.
A fundamental aspect of the virtual incubator is entrepreneurs helping other entrepreneurs. This collaboration creates a network of business affiliates and an unlimited database of testimonial resources.

Each virtual incubator participant is encouraged to add his or her own instructional or educational video to the database in an effort to perpetuate the collaboration of entrepreneurial experiences. Once a participant completes a series of courses and "graduates" from the program, he or she is able to share a business experience, tip, or lesson on any topic relating to entrepreneurial business.

Sharing knowledge and helping others succeed are paramount to the BusinessMedia Center. In 2005, BMC described the RBTI program to a number of universities participating in a collaborative academic conference. Upon learning about the program, officials from The University of West Florida (UWF) in Pensacola developed a similar program and received a $1 million award from the U.S. Small Business Administration. The UWF project, Virtual Business Accelerator Program, is modeled after BMC's incubator program and is designed to support business development.

BMC's virtual incubator is a prime example of the dynamic and innovative tools created and employed by BMC to help its clients and other business resources.
