As two-time national championship winners, the TTU Mini Baja team is a real driving force to be reckoned with.

Mini Baja is a collegiate racing program in which students create real-world engineering designs to build an off-road vehicle that will survive severe rough terrain.

According to the national Mini Baja sponsor, the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), "students must function as a team to not only design, build, test, promote, and race a vehicle within the limits of the rules, but also to generate financial support for their project and manage their educational priorities."

To help generate financial support, the TTU Mini Baja team approached BMC to develop a promotional CD-ROM.

"We use the CD as a tool to connect with our sponsors," said Dale Wilson, TTU Mechanical Engineering professor and faculty advisor for Mini Baja.
"The CD helps us better illustrate what we do. It's something we can put in front of corporations when we're looking for sponsorships to give them a real sense of what we do.

"TTU has been competing in Mini Baja since the 1970s. Eighty-three percent of the time we are ranked in the top 10 out of nearly 150 other teams.

"I always say you've got to look like a champion to be a champion, and that's what the CD does for the team.

"Having BMC at Tech is a huge help. Not many universities have this tremendous resource. Working with them has been an absolutely wonderful experience."
