The President's Academy for Emerging Technologies at TTU is an academic enrichment program for high school students. The summer residential program is designed to stimulate and build interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics among area high school students.

Because of the interest in the academy and the rapid success of the program, TTU began to investigate the potential for proposing the academy for a future Governor's School - a program in which high school students take advanced courses in a particular field of study.

To document and share the experience of the 2005 President's Academy, Ken Hunter and other leaders of the program enlisted the help of BMC.

"We wanted to put together a CD-ROM to present the results of the program to various people," said Hunter.

"We were hoping to attract the Governor's School to potentially add emerging technologies to their list of programs, but the funding isn't available at this point.
"However, we've been able to use the CD-ROM to show it to legislators and others interested in the program. It's been a great tool for building attention for the program," said Hunter.

"The CD turned out very well, considering the BMC team had to work so fast. We only had about a week to put it together, and I was very surprised with the quality of work that was done in such a short amount of time.

"We had over 20 different partners from education, government and industry who helped support the program. We've taken the CD to show it to many of them, and they've been impressed with seeing the end result of their contribution. It was nice to be able to show them what they helped make happen."
