BMC works with the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) to develop an interactive Web site for strategic planning.
|
TBR is a collaborative system of universities, community colleges and technology centers working together to offer educational opportunities to all Tennesseans.
TBR's strategic plan, along with the plans of each of the system's institutions, sets new directions for higher education in the state of Tennessee.
Each institution outlines its objectives, strategies and benchmarks for success as it relates to TBR's broader plan--"Setting New Directions."
To communicate the details of each plan, TBR Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs Paula Short targeted the Internet as a means of correspondence. Short's vision is to share each plan with the broader system and create a cohesiveness among TBR's six universities, 13 community colleges and 27 technology centers. Though each institution has its own goals, bringing those goals together with TBR's broader vision is a collaborative effort to enhance Tennessee's educational opportunities.

To develop the strategic plan's Web-based program, Short sought the expertise of the BusinessMedia Center.
BMC created an interactive Web site specifically designed to support the various aspects of strategic planning. TBR and the system's institutions can electronically access each other's plans and review and update their own.
Says Short:
"Strategic planning is essential to the Tennessee Board of Regents and the TBR system.
"Sharing the goals and strategies of each educational institution builds a stronger system and more quality educational opportunities for the citizens of Tennessee.
"The Tennessee Tech BusinessMedia Center has a statewide reputation for doing superior work. They went above and beyond in building a professional Web site for the strategic plan. They are a tremendous asset."
